We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Pleasant View a great one.

What can you expect?

Our services are about 60 minutes in length. Services include Scripture readings from different parts of the Bible and a broad lineup of worship music including hymns and modern praise songs. We also spend some time going over announcements and praying for one another.

The second half of the service, our pastor will preach an expository sermon. John Stott explained expository preaching as bringing “out of the text what is there and expose it to view. The expositor opens what appears to be closed, makes plain what is obscure, unravels what is knotted, and unfolds what is tightly packed.”

What about your kids?

“Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Those are the words of Jesus. And that’s the goal for our church. So bring your kids with you into the service. They will squirm and giggle, cry and maybe fall asleep. If you need to walk them to the back of the sanctuary, that’s fine. No dirty looks, no judgement.
