I came to faith in 1997 during a Spring revival at my home church and accepted the call to ministry seven years later. Since 2007, I’ve served churches in Georgia, North Carolina, Upstate New York, Tennessee, and Alabama. I’ve been preaching since I was 16 years old. I grew up in Tallassee, AL, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies at Union University in 2011, and a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2015.
My wife, Kristen, and I have a daughter named Tynleigh. I enjoy sports (especially playing golf and watching college football), reading, good coffee, spending time with my family, snow cones, and grilling.
1 Peter 5:2-3 and 1 Timothy 4:16 are key verses in how I understand my calling as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ:
Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3
Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.
1 Timothy 4:16
