A Church for Worship
We gather each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. for worship, biblical preaching, prayer, and fellowship. Our worship service usually lasts about an hour and is centered on the Word of God and the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and that it has something important to say to every person, no matter their age or background. Each week, we gather as a church family to hear the Bible taught, sing together, pray together, and encourage one another. We do not expect people to have everything figured out before they come through our doors. You do not need to know the Bible, understand everything about Christianity, or have your life put together. Come as you are. You will find ordinary people who are learning to follow Jesus together. Some have followed Christ for many years. Others are still asking questions and learning what it means to believe in Him. We believe the church should be a place where people can hear the truth of the gospel, build meaningful relationships, and take their next step in following Jesus. Pleasant View Baptist Church has been part of the Carrollton community since 1876. For nearly 150 years, generations of people have gathered at Pleasant View to worship Jesus, hear the Bible preached, pray together, care for one another, and share the gospel. Families have celebrated weddings and births, walked through seasons of loss, raised children, and served their neighbors through this church. Through all those years, Carrollton has changed. The people, buildings, roads, businesses, and neighborhoods around us have changed. Yet God has continued to be faithful. Our history is a reminder that the church does not belong to one generation. We receive something from those who came before us, and we have a responsibility to pass the faith on to those who come after us. As we approach 150 years of ministry, we are thankful for the men and women who have faithfully served Jesus at Pleasant View. But we do not want to live only in the past. A church can have a long history and still have a fresh mission. Our desire is to faithfully serve Carrollton today while preparing the church for tomorrow. We want to help people know Jesus, grow in His Word, love one another, and live on mission in our community. We want to be a church that is faithful to the gospel in our own generation and that helps the next generation follow Jesus. We are thankful for where God has brought Pleasant View, but we are also excited about where He may lead us next.
